Today I went bass fishing in a small pond in North Carolina.  The temp was about 70 deg F and partly cloudy.  I used a small soft crankbait that looked exactly like a small bluegill.  If you do not have one of these, get 2 or 3 of them.  I caught 10-12 bass in about 1 hour.  One of them weighed 6 lbs and two others weighed 3-4 lbs.   I tried trick worms, rapalas, and spinnerbaits without much luck. I have used this bait twice since I bought it, and I have caught 6 pounders on each day along with several 3-4 pounders.  I will use it a lot more often now.  The bait is soft rubber with a swimming tail and one treble hook.  Give it a shot. I tried trick worms, rapalas, and spinnerbaits without much luck.

I fished for bass at night on dock lights in Lake Sinclair.  Used a purple Zoom U-tail worm on Texas rig with a spinning rod set up.  I caught several bass in the 2-3 lb range.  Lots of waves from holiday traffic.  Caught fish in Roger's Cove and at Larson Cove.

Caught several good fish on Devil's Horse in Black Lake at 4-6pm afternoon.

Tried new Horny Toad plastic bait.  Caught two 3 lbers in the grass. This is a great bait!  Another good trick is to Texas rig a big worm with no weight and slide it across the top of the grass, pads, moss, whatever veg you have.  Rip it fast across the top and then let it stop.  If there is an opening in the veg, let it fall slowly in the opening for a few seconds.  You will usually get a strike then.  I found a cool site for all to check out for GA hunting - GA deer hunting - GA turkey hunting - Georgia deer outfitters, etc. called www.huntinggeorgia.net
